Very interesting early sash pin in both bright and oxidized gilt metal, with smooth and lined stamped ribbon design. There are lovely, curved swirls on each side of the large, 20mm, bezel-set, topaz glass, facetted center.

Large, Gilt Brass Victorian Sash Pin
This is a very large, Victorian era sash pin made to look like a buckle, with two imitation prongs applied to the main design. The engraved, all-over design is floral and foliate with very fine details.
This early sash pin is in very good, original and unpolished condition with slight wear on the gilt finish appropriate to being around 100 years old. Brooch has the old style 'C' clasp and heavy pin stem and measures a substantial 3 1/4 x 2 1/2 inches.

The "buckle" piece has been resoldered and some solder is visible, but it's still a wonderful, older sash pin, finish wear on the back, but the front looks great, interesting design features, 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches.

It is very unusual to find a Victorian sash pin in pristine condition, but this one is a fine example. Simple, elgant design in the shape of an oval buckle in brushed and bright gold color metal is actually a large brooch, signed GLP on the old style simple 'C' clasp.
This sash pin is in excellent original condition and does not appear to have ever been worn. It has the heavy pin and clasp characteristic of the late 1800 to early 1900s jewelry and measures 2 3/8 x 1 3/4 inches.
