Very interesting hand-carved shell cameo of a Roman or Grecian woman with a flower in her hair, wearing a headband of some sort, with very fine detail, especially in the features and expression on her face. Unusual setting: cameo is bezel-set in goldtone metal with a beaded edge, which is then prong-set into an interesting stamped sterling frame.
Piece has original soft patina, safety clasp, and is marked sterling on the outer frame. condition is excellent with no flaws whatsoever. 1 1/4 x 1 1/2" overall size, and an unusual addition to a cameo collection. |
