Early navy blue plastic brooch - "V" for Victory, with twisted square wire spelling out Mother and piercing the back to form the clasp.
This appears to be a handmade piece--a WWII serviceman's gift to his Mother, and a wonderful piece of sentimental, sweetheart jewelry. The patriotic theme is especially appropriate right now, and is also a great Mother's day gift.
The piece measures 1 1/2 x 1 1/2" and has a homemade, doubled-wire C clasp. It is in excellent, original condition and would appeal to WWI collectors as well.
