A very interesting necklace and bracelet set in silvertone openworked metal set with green intaglios of a Roman or Greek figure. The marquis-shaped intaglios are a very deep green and are either jade or a very good imitation in glass.
The necklace has 3 intaglios, all bezel set with the center having a loop at the bottom, either as an ornament or to hand a charm. The chain has rectangular links, finely engraved on the top, and an old style spring ring clasp. The metal is unmarked but of excellent quality. Necklace is 17" long and the center portion with the intaglios is 5" wide x 1" deep. It is in excellent condition.
The bracelet has 3 intaglio figures separated by openwork corcles with heavy double rings at each end and a figural lock clasp, marked SCS & Co. I'm not sure if this clasp is original, but this is how I bought it. The clasp is somewhat stiff, but does close and stays closed securely. The bracelet is in otherwise excellent condition and is 7" long x 3/4" wide, clasp is 1/2 x 7/8"
This is an elegant, lovely set, sure to bring compliments to either the wearer or the giver. |
