This is a very beautiful pin and screw-back earring set, marked as gold-filled and signed with the initials DOR. The design is a portrait of a Victorian lady against a blue and cream background painted on china. She's wearing a pink dress with a square collar, a pearl necklace and an elaborate hairdo with red and white coils in her hair. This is a transfer design with hand-painted details. There is a clear layer over the design-probably a clear lacquer or lucite. The pieces are bezel-set in a filigree frame with floral accents.
The brooch is 1 x 1 1/4" with secure safety clasp. There is a small chip in the clear layer behind the woman's head but the piece is still beautiful and wearable. The price on this set does reflect this defect.
The earrings are screw backs and are 1/2 x 3/4" and are in excellent condition. Lovely set at a bargain price! |
