This sash pin is done in two layers, with the oval base done in a heavily textured gilt brass with an overlay of a swirling floral with a central, highly domed, bezel-set red cabochon. Matching, smaller cabochons are on either end of the base oval.
This sash pin is in excellent, original condition, with nice patina. The cabochons are a beautiful shade of red and are in excellent condition. The back is plain with a dome in the center where the central design was attached. It has the older C clasp and probably dates from the 1920s, when these sash pins were very popular.
This brooch measures 3 1/4 x 1 3/4 inches and a nice, substantial piece.
