Vintage Arts & Crafts sash pin in gilt brass. This brooch has a modified shield shaped solid base with cut-out and engraved overlay with tiny flowers on each side. The center is a bezel-set art glass, high domed oval cabochon in carnelian with green speckles.
This Arts & Crafts brooch is in excellent, original, unpolished condition with nice, soft patina. The back does have some discoloration which I have not attempted to polish out. The clasp, which is an older style safety clasp, may have been replaced at one time, but the pin stem is original.
Size of this elegant sash pin is 2 7/8 x 2 1/2 x 3/8 inches deep. Looks great on a jacket, a coat or even on a large purse as a retro accent--use your imagination. |
