Unusual hand-carved shell cameo showing a full face of a classical woman rising up out of the shell. The depth and the detail are finely done and show the full face slightly turned to the side with softly waved hair framing her face.
This dimensional cameo is in excellent, original condition and is bezel set into a twisted rope frame, marked as gold-filled, and has a loop so the cameo can be worn as a pendant. The brooch has a safety clasp and has no faults or defects and is in excellent condition. Size is 1 1/8 x 1 1/2 x 5/8 inches deep. Unusual subject makes it a great gift for the cameo collector or a thoughtful Mother's Day gift. |
