Turn-of-the century gilt brass sash pin both stamped and applied flower and foliate designs. The base of this early 1900s sash pin is an intricate, openwork foliate design with flowers applied along the border. The centerpiece is a large flower with graceful, curved leaves on an openwork, oval plate. Sash pins were very popular around the turn of the 20th century to wear on sashes as accents to the dress styles popular during that era.
This vintage sash pin is in excellent, original condition with soft patina and has a secure safety clasp, which was probably added at a later time so the pin wouldn't fall off. The edges are curved for added dimensionality and the sash pin is 3 1/8 x 2 inches. Big enough to be noticed and light enough to wear comfortably |
