Another lovely hand-carved shell cameo depicting the Goddess Flora, not suprisingly the goddess of flowers. This 1940s vintage cameo shows Flora in profile with flowers cascading through her hair and on the bodice of her gown. The detail and dimensionality of the cameo brooch is extremely fine and beautiful.
This vintage cameo is in excellent, original condition with a bezel-set cameo and simple, deep frame. The only flaw I see is that 2 holes have been drilled at the base of the setting, but do not show when worn. The brooch has a secure, older style safety clasp and measures 1 1/8 x 1 3/8 x 1/4 inch deep.
The mark on the clasp is obscured but the setting tests at least 10K.
