This 1960s David Andersen sterling brooch is based on an ancient Viking design dating from around 800AD and is part of the Saga series of Viking pieces created by David Andersen. An impressive figural piece with outstanding detailing, possibly an ancient god or totem symbol, the brooch is signed D-A sterling, 925S and Copy, Original from Viking Period around 700AD.
This David Andersen Saga piece can be worn as a pendant, with a large loop for hanging on a chain. David Andersen brooch is in excellent, original and unpolished condition with a great patina and a secure safety clasp and large pendant loop. 3/4 x 2 3/8 inches, a weighty piece at 27 grams.
