Classic, early Satsuma button, signed with red Oriental characters on the back, has the old crackle straw glaze with figures of three Oriental woman and 2 children. Satsuma button has a black border with heavy gold overlay. There is a substantial use of gold on all of the figures and edging and the details are quite fine.
This fine Satsuma button is most likely late 19th or early 20th century and has the classic unglazed self shank. It is in excellent, original condition.
